Gardening Association Spring Event
Well, as I write it is white over with frost and freezing outside, just the weather to make you think of spring sunshine and flowers!!
We just wanted you to make a note in your diaries that a Spring Event is being planned jointly by Harthill and District Gardening Association and the ‘Beehive’ to bring together the people with gardening interests for ‘Harthill Gardening World Live’. This will be held on Saturday May 12th and will be based on the ‘Beehive’ field in Marquees. We are hoping to get interactive stands from local botanic artists showcasing their work and how they do it; from the school Gardening Club; from Harthill in Bloom and other organisations. There will also be a salute to the BBC Gardeners World Live, when we have our own Plant Swap stand, which we hope that everyone interested in gardening can join in. Of course, refreshments during the day will be available from the Beehive. The Mayor of Rotherham, himself a professional gardener, has promised to look in and support us.
As this goes to press we are in the early stages of planning, so look in future local village publications for more information about this Community Gardening Event.

HARTHILL MODERN JIVE
We now have around three dozen regular members of all ages, most of whom were absolute beginners to dancing when the club stated. Nowadays the club is really starting to 'rock', with everyone groovin' to uplifting dance music.
The emphasis has been on learning Modern Jive moves (which is not the same as rock 'n roll or ballroom jive), but we also have been learning rumba, salsa & cha-cha. Some members attend with their partners, whilst many others come along with friends or just on their own. This is no problem at Harthill Modern Jive because in the classes people are constantly moved on, practicing new moves & routines with lots of different partners. There are no 'wallflowers' - It's all very friendly and most of all it's fun. It's good exercise too.
Many of our members first came along thinking they had two left feet and would never be able to dance! Now those same members are really into it and are willing to help any 'new' people who turn up.
So if you are thinking you might like to join in, get in touch - you'll not regret it!

Active Always is a gentle physical activity programme delivered through NHS Rotherham and RMBC Sports Development by fully qualified instructors.
The class, which is no longer restricted to over 50s, runs from 10.00 until 11.00 each week on Thursdays at the Village Hall and costs just £10.00 per month
