Wickersley Doorstep Green

Accessed via either Warren Road, Oak Tree Close, or a footpath to the side of the Health Centre, this area was formerly farmland, based off Bawtry Road and right in the heart of the village. The Parish Council were succesful in attracting over £100,000 of funding from the Countryside Agency to landscape the area. The work was completed in 2006.

 

A meadow has been created with an attractive winding path through it. The site is bordered by a range of newly-planted trees and shrubs which have been selected to attract a variety of wildlife to what would otherwise be an urban area.

 

Other facilities on site include two play areas suitable for young children - including clmbing equipment and swings. For older children there is a football pitch and a floodlit baskeball area.
