The Standard Board of England maintains the local standard framework and works with Local Authorities to maintain high standards of conduct.

Rotherham
The Standards Committee exists to ensure that Members of the Borough and Town and Parish Councils maintain the high standard of conduct that is expected of them. The Committee is made up of eight Independent Members (including the Chairman and Vice-Chairman), four Borough Councillors and three parish council representatives.
