Maltby Town Council and former Town Clerk, David Morton, are pleased to confirm that they have been able to negotiate a settlement of Mr Morton’s Employment Tribunal claims.
Maltby Town Council regrets the manner of his suspension on 18 June 2008 and confirms that Mr Morton was not guilty of any wrongdoing whilst he was in the Council’s employment. Maltby Town Council also confirms that Mr. Morton has an unblemished disciplinary record.
The Council is aware of continuing derogatory statements towards Mr Morton that appear on various public online internet message boards based in Maltby, and Maltby Town Council disassociates itself from these and any future comments.
The Council would like to thank Mr Morton for his hard work over the years and wishes him every success for the future. The Council wishes to apologise to Mr Morton and his family for the manner of his departure from the Council.
Both Mr Morton and the Council are pleased that they are now able to put this matter behind them and that the settlement arrived at should now enable the Council to concentrate on serving the needs of the people of Maltby.
