FORTHCOMING PROGRAMME OF EVENTS AT LETWELL VILLAGE HALL

Letwell's reputation was boosted once more with two consecutive sell outs shows on June 28th and 29th featuring top Sheffield band Boy On A Dolphin. John Reilly and the boys - on stage for the first time since their appearance at Sheffield City Hall last December - have already spoken about returning to Letwell in the next few months.

French teacher turned folk circuit legend Flossie Malavialle brings her amazing show to Letwell on Friday September 9th. Originally from Provence, but now a converted Geordie, Flossie was a huge hit when she came to the village last year. Her comic delivery mixed with a great range of songs from Edith Piaf to Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin promise a fantastic night packed full of vavavoum. For availability call 01909 731626 or 540694. Britain's most exciting young folk band - The Old Dance School - are appearing on Friday night October 28th. The hall was bursting at the seams when the seven piece band made their first visit in February. Championed by BBC 2's legendary presenter Bob Harris the band won terrific reviews with their first album Based On A True Story in 2008, and followed it up with an even better second album - titled Forecast - last year. Blistering tunes with soaring brass, duelling fiddles and great vocal harmonies, the band are just irresistible. Saturday November 26th sees the return of firm Letwell favourites The Happy Cats led by singer/multi instrumentalist and ex Lindisfarne front man Marty Craggs.Happy Cats are a compelling mix of Cajun country, Geordie folk and Latin salsa with a little bit of rock n roll and Tamla thrown in for good measure. Fans travel from all over the country to join in the pre-Christmas fun at Letwell every year, and the show is sure to sell out very quickly. Tickets via 540694 or 731626.

December 31st - New Year's Eve Party with South Yorkshire's No 1 good time band The Steroes fronted by Letwell's very own Roger Brooks. Buffet from the famed kitchen of gourmet chef Ann Wright. Tickets from 01909 731626.

*Doors always open at 8pm. Shows start promptly at 8.30pm. Parking available on Barker Hades Road outside the hall - please leave vehicles half on the half off the pavement to allow access for farm vehicles.
