The Town Council own and operate two Allotment Sites, the main site is at Silverdales and a smaller site is off Doe Quarry Lane.
Silverdales is centrally located between Byron Road and Silverdales and has forty plus plots of various sizes that are all occupied.
The site is accessed through double gates opening up into a parking area off the end of Byron Road with a pedestrian only gate coming into the site from the opposite side. The site is serviced with a water supply via four standpipes strategically placed between the two main rows of plots.
The Allotment Site off Doe Quarry Lane has several occupied plots but is currently unavailable for further lettings.
The Council operate a first come first served waiting list of applicants, all enquiries regarding Allotments please to The Town Clerk and Finance Officer (see contact details)
Allotment Gardening has become increaseingly popular over the last couple of years and the Town Council are particularly pleased to see this worthwhile pastime and hobby being taken up by Families and Younger members of the Community.
