Joint Working Charter
| Twenty five of Rotherham’s twenty nine Parish Councils have signed up to a framework of mutual understanding outlined in a Charter of joint working arrangements. |
|

|
It was agreed that the Charter would be a ‘living’ document, updated regularly to reflect changing circumstances and the development of stronger ties between the two tiers of local government. The Charter sets out a number of issues that will be of benefit to both tiers including:
-
A basic statement of mutual rights and responsibilities to act as a foundation for future relationships.
-
Closer working with Rotherham Council to deliver improvements for local people.
-
A framework for service devolution and financial arrangements
-
A performance and review structure which establishes regular reviews of the Charter.
|
The Joint Working Charter has been updated and revised for 2010/11. The RMBC and Parish and Town Councils Joint Working Group, in consultation with all parish and town councils, have carried out minor revisions but improved the Contacts section at the rear of the document. The document now includes a meeting schedule for all parish councils with a view to making it a useful tool for RMBC officers.
