Joint Working Charter
| During March 2006, twenty four of Rotherham’s twenty nine Parish Councils signed up to a framework of mutual understanding outlined in a Charter of joint working arrangements. |
|

|
It was agreed that the Charter would be a ‘living’ document, updated regularly to reflect changing circumstances and the development of stronger ties between the two tiers of local government. The Charter sets out a number of issues that will be of benefit to both tiers including:
-
A basic statement of mutual rights and responsibilities to act as a foundation for future relationships.
-
Support for Parish Councils to obtain Quality status.
-
Closer working with Rotherham Council to deliver improvements for local people.
-
A framework for service devolution and financial arrangements
-
A performance and review structure which establishes regular reviews of the Charter.
